Zipline Canopy Tour Overview

Canopy Tour operations temporarily suspended due to Covid-19.

While we had hoped to re-open the canopy tour for the summer, the current escalation in cases and requirement to wear masks in the Texas heat dictates that we further delay until guest and guide safety can be assured. At this time, we are unable to predict exactly when that might be and are keeping a close watch on the situation. We will send an email to our customer list as soon as we have a definitive date for reopening.

We look forward to having you visit when we are once again able to dance through the treetops together.

Zip line your way to a GREAT day!

closeupFly through the canopy of old-growth cypress trees, some up to 100 feet tall. A new world unfolds as you glide on steel ziplines from platform to platform high in the tree tops. Join us at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours® for a thrilling eco-adventure, and renew your experience of nature on our exhilarating zipline tours at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours in Spicewood, Texas USA, just 30 miles west of downtown Austin.

Cypress Valley Canopy Tours® is a place of adventure, nature, fun, and relaxation.

Come soar through the trees, harnessed in climbing gear, for an exciting look at Texas Hill Country nature from a completely new perspective. Our guides will escort you on an individual, group, company, or family adventure where you will have your adrenaline rush as you learn about the local ecology from a bird’s eye view.

Your CYPRESS VALLEY CANOPY TOUR includes 5 ziplines, 2 sky bridges, and a rappel and lasts from 90 minutes to two hours. The longest line is over 350 feet and most launch and land in platforms up to 40 feet high in the trees. At the first platform, your guides will help you acclimate to the heights and point out some of the things you’ll be seeing on your tour. From there, you and your guides are free to fly through the canopy, taking in the beauty and exhilaration of soaring through the trees. Most guests exit the course by rappelling off the last platform, however, an alternate exit is available for those not inclined to venture down the rappel.  After your adventure, you are taken in an electric cart back to where you began.

What’s a skybridge? ….

Your Canopy Tour Guides

Each group, approximately six to eight guests, is accompanied by two certified guides. Our guides have been well trained on the equipment and risk management procedures and are CPR certified to provide you with a comfortable and exciting tour. Guides also receive continued training about the local flora and fauna. They will be able to answer your questions about the local wildlife and point out various interesting aspects of the Hill Country during your tour. Guides will tailor the tour to your interests and will bring new and changing information to each tour depending on the season and wildlife encountered.

Your Equipment

You will be strapped into high quality climbing and technical gear designed specifically for canopy tours, then attached to a ½ inch steel cable to fly through the trees. Most Cypress Valley ziplines traverse from tree to tree and land in platforms high up in the canopy.

Cypress Valley Canopy Tours® has been designed and constructed by some of the best technicians in the ropes course and zipline industry. The steel zip-lines, and all rigging and attachments are routinely tested. For your protection, we conduct daily inspections and log the condition of lines, platforms, and equipment. We follow a rigid set of risk management standards, guidelines, and checks. In addition, Cypress Valley Canopy Tours® hires an outside company to periodically certify our course and equipment. The course was designed to meet or exceed ACCT (Association for Challenge Courses) standards.
